Christmas Carols

Christmas Caroling at the Pecks has become one of our favorite Christmas traditions.  We eat delicious chili and then take a hayride through the suburban (can you call Manor suburban?) neighborhood, caroling along the way.  The big improvement for this year was that we had printed lyrics.  This, unfortunately, did not improve our singing abilities.  We also found out that GTB prefers to run alongside the trailor with the “big kids,” helping ring the doorbells and generally making the neighborhood aware of our presence by his loud yelling.

The Perfect Tree

The perfect tree was not to be had this year.  We’re not sure if its because the weather was too dry, we wanted a tree too small, or we waited too long to pick one out, but whatever the reason, we had difficulty finding a tree this year.  We did, however, have fun out on the Christmas tree farm visiting the animals and going on a hayride.  We settled for a cute, slightly homely, smaller tree and learned to love it despite the crooked angel on top.

S. Claus

Alright, we are about to inundate this blog with Christmas pictures and general updates.  We finally have some downtime on our hands and are excited to catch our family and friends up on what’s been going on in our lives.  We figured we’d start with the Christmas pictures and then fill in the gaps from the last fall.

This year was Toodus’s twenty-eighth visit to Santa Claus….and GTB’s second.  We went with our great friends the Gentrys, and GTB and Eli had a blast riding the train while waiting in line.  When GTB saw Santa at a random ministry fair in early November (I don’t know why Santa was at a ministry fair so don’t ask), he bawled.  However, in recent months, he has become a big Santa fan, and now he frequently says “Ho Ho Ho” and asks for a beard.  We’re pretty sure he’ll never grow a beard as good as Santa’s but Papa might be able to give him a few tips!  GTB also knows exactly what he wants for Christmas, and if you ask him, he’ll tell you “an iPhone.”  Sorry to disappoint kid, but there probably won’t be an iPhone under the tree for you….
